COMPETITION GUIDELINES

RULES

PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO ABIDE BY COVID-19 SAFETY REGULATIONS DURING PRODUCTION 

 

GUIDELINES 

  1. Submissions must be under 8 minutes*

    1. *The previously dictated 3-minute minimum has been removed as of 3/18/21 ! Shorts under 3 minutes are now eligible 

  2. NARRATIVE SHORT ELIGIBILITY

    1. Any Narrative work of fiction with a run-time under 8 minutes.

      1. Animated narrative works allowed - open to any form of animation. However, Animated Shorts submitted in this category must be narrative in nature - no experimental pieces.

  3. NON-FICTION/NON-NARRATIVE SHORT ELIGIBILITY

    1. Any Non-Fiction or Non-Narrative work of film with a run-time under 8 minutes.

      1. Acceptable submissions include documentaries, experimental films, etc.

  4. Acceptance of films into the festival (in terms of which films are screened) will be decided upon by the Aggie Cinema Project. 

    1. All submissions will be evaluated and eligible for the prize available in their assigned category, however, not all will be screened at the festival.

    2. Please note that acceptance decisions are not made solely based on the quality of the submission - we will be building a program based on the time allotted to us at our venue, as well. 

  5. You will receive notification on the status of your submission by Friday, April 9th at the latest.

 

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY 

  1. Submission must be accompanied by the $5 submission fee* PER ENTRY and a completed online entry form PER ENTRY

    1. Submission fee must be paid and entry form must be submitted by deadline at 11:59PM 

      1. * Aggie Cinema Project members are not required to pay submission fee

  2. Participants are welcome to submit more than one film, but a submission fee and online entry form must be submitted PER ENTRY

  3. Short films must be submitted via Google Drive (with link included on entry form), Youtube/Vimeo (with link included on entry form), or a USB/DVD delivered to an ACP staff member (coordinated via email).

  4. In the event of an access, password, or link change after submitting, you must email the Festival at aggiecinemaproject@gmail.com immediately with that change so we may update your record. If the Festival is not notified of the change and the link is found to be inactive or the password to be incorrect, the submission may be deemed ineligible.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  1. ACP reserves the right to switch the entry category or otherwise assign a category to fit programming needs and interests. Films will not be penalized for the original submission selection. 

  2. Once an entry payment has been received we cannot provide a refund. If a payment is disputed by an entrant for any reason, the entrant may be subject to any transaction fees or similar amounts incurred by ACP in connection with the dispute.

  3. Submissions must abide by Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater Facility Guidelines, including the avoidance of:

  1. Depiction in any form of nudity or semi-nudity, profanity, obscenity, or lewdness, or characterizations which suggest, depict or promote any such element or sexually oriented products, activities or materials;

  2. Promotion in any form of illegal drugs, illegal drug use or illegal drug materials, or characterizations which suggest or depict the promotion or glorification of any such products, activities or materials;

  3. Promotion of the use or sale of firearms, explosives or other weapons, or the depiction, suggestion or glorification of violence or acts of a violent nature;

  4. Use of language or descriptive material which taken in form and context is deemed to be unsuitable for and contrary to community standards of appropriateness for governmental or family publications

SELECTED FILMS AND WINNERS

  1. ACP has no obligation (other than as stated in these rules or on our website) to disclose any of the following information: i) notes, feedback, or information relating to the submitted project; and/or iii) details regarding the submission review or selection process. 

  2. ACP explicitly disclaims any liability or responsibility for any comments, notes, or opinions expressed about a submission, whether by ACP or by its volunteers. 

  3. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 23rd. The judges’ decisions are final.
